Kolkata Knight Riders registered their second win as the youngsters led them to victory over Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs.
In batting, Shubman Gill top-scored with 47 runs while the youngsters Varun Chakravarthy, Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi created magic with the ball.
Both the teams were playing their first game in Dubai where Steve Smith win the toss and chose to field first. Shubman Gill and Sunil Narine opened the batting as usual but lost their first wicket in the 5th over.
Sunil Narine failed to execute his power-hitting capabilities and gave away his wicket cheaply for the third time in the league. The middle order put in a collective effort and put up a total of 174/6 after the end of 20 overs.
Jofra Archer was the best pick among the bowlers by taking down two wickets and finish with 2/18 in four overs.
Rajasthan Royals lost its skipper Steve Smith and in form Sanju Samson cheaply early in the inning and put them selves in the back seat.
Both Samson and Smith tried to fire the bowlers but the conditions in Dubai had the better of them today. The rest of the batsmen merely showed a fight in front of the young KKR bowlers.
Shivam Mavi removed Joss Buttler and Sanju Samson and also became the player of the match tonight. None of the bowlers went wicketless as they successfully restricted the Royals on 137/9 in the end.
One positive for Rajasthan Royals would be Tom Curran’s scoring runs for them and also showed grit until the end of the match. He scored 54 runs off 36 balls and hammered 3 runs and two boundaries in his inning.
