Defending champions England World Cup 2023 Schedule is out and the Joss Buttler-led side is set to roll out their campaign and retain the title at the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 in India. Founder and Home of the sport, England took 44 Years to clinch the coveted trophy back in 2019 as they defeated the Black Caps in a thrilling super-over final at the Lord’s.
England will kick start their World Cup campaign against New Zealand in the inaugural fixture of the World Cup on 5th October 2023. The heavyweight clash will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue will then proceed to face Bangladesh in the foothills of Dharamsala and finally play their ultimate pool stage fixture against Pakistan on November 12 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
England’s camp will be led by their white-ball skipper Jos Buttler. As of now, no injury concerns hinder the English camp. Jofra Archer will likely return before the marquee event. Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone will form the perfect all-round combination and the two looked in great touch at the IPL. Mark Wood, Adil Rashid and Archer will form the terrific bowling lineup.
It is not going to be an easy campaign for the reigning champions coming into the sub-continent and adapting to the spin-friendly conditions. However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) stint will definitely come in handy for those England players who come to India every year for the tournament.
