Star batter Tamim Iqbal will travel to Dubai and the United Kingdom earlier this month for an in-depth medical examination of his back problem, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced recently. The decision was made as Tamim’s condition started to worry them progressively more, leading him to seek specialist medical guidance abroad.
Tamim has been handed a six-week break to allow for a thorough recovery from his injury, according to Jalal Yunus, the head of BCB cricket operations. The upcoming trip will give him the opportunity to talk with experts and obtain the required care to get the return to full fitness.
In an effort to finalize the basic squad of 25–26 players for the next Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup, the BCB is desperate to get an update on Tamim’s condition.
Tamim Iqbal To Help BCB in Selection Of the Players Despite Travel
Tamim’s journey will start with a stop in Dubai, where he will receive initial assessments. He will then travel to the UK on either July 25 or July 26 in order to attend two appointments in London. Tamim will update the BCB on his progress there while offering necessary information for the selection process.
The remainder of the team will take a break until July 30 when certain players choose to play in international fixtures. A conditioning training will start after the break to pick up where we left off with the preparations.
Earlier, Yunus was uncertain about the captaincy problem, focusing instead on the importance of Tamim’s comeback and having a direct conversation with him about it. Before making any decisions, he stated that the issue of Tamim’s fitness needed to be resolved. Tamim’s performance was affected by the injury’s inconsistency, which raised concerns about his competence.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan took up the subject in a recent interview. Yunus added that frequent discussions do take place, and Tamim informs the board president as well as Shahriar Nafees, the manager of cricket operations, of any developments.
Mashrafe Mortaza To Be Bangladesh Mentor for World Cup 2023
Tamim supposedly urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the conversation that former captain Mashrafe Mortaza take on the role of team mentor for the 2023 men’s ODI World Cup. Yunus addressed this suggestion by saying that the board is still open to exploring Mashrafe’s potential involvement.
Yunus stated that if Mashrafe formally contacts the board, they would probably be ready to discuss his involvement, given his legislative position, history as a former captain, and leadership qualities.
As Tamim Iqbal prepares to travel overseas for medical evaluation, the fans wait for reports on his condition. The intention is that the medical consultations and following therapy will provide Tamim with the much-needed treatment for his back problem, allowing them to get back to the field at his best while contributing to Bangladesh’s cricket success.
