IND vs AUS: As part of their preparations for the upcoming World Cup 2023, India will play Australia in an essential three-match One Day International (ODI) series, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
This series will be seen as an important beginning for both countries coming up to the upcoming World Cup, which will begin on October 5. The series will take place after the end of the Asia Cup on September 17.
The current media rights cycle is expected to come to an end by the month of August, and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated that the ODI series against Australia would bring in a new one.
“The tender will be coming out soon. We’re planning to close the media rights process by August end,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said.
This change suggests that cricket fans will have an exciting future as new media rights offer up new opportunities and innovations for the sport’s broadcast.
Australia will play their second bilateral ODI series in India after previously winning a three-match ODI series played there earlier this year.

The upcoming series is crucial for both teams as it provides an important foundation as they get ready for the World Cup in 2023.
The BCCI has yet to announce the exact dates and venues for the ODI series, although it is believed that it would run from September 20 to September 27. After the series, India will take on their first warm-up match against England on September 29.
India and Australia are scheduled to play each other in their first World Cup 2023 encounter on October 8 in Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
India and Australia have a long and storied history in ODI cricket, with the two teams having met 146 times. Australia has the edge in the head-to-head record, with 82 wins to India’s 54. The last time the two teams met in a bilateral series, Australia won 2-1 in March 2023. India will be looking to avenge that loss when they meet again in a three-match ODI series in September.
The ODI series between these two cricketing giants before their World Cup clash will be expected to lay the foundation for their upcoming battles in the international arena.
