Pakistan is set to host New Zealand for a limited-overs bilateral series that will comprise five T20Is and as many as One-Day Internationals. The much-anticipated series will kickstart on April 14. Notably, the upcoming series will compensate for the 2021 tour between the two sides that was called off by the Kiwis citing security reasons.
Pakistan come to the series after suffering a humiliating defeat against Afghanistan by 1-2 in a recently concluded T20I series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On the other hand, defiant New Zealand is back in action after securing a decisive 2-1 victory against Sri Lanka in a T20I series.
Pakistan Team Update
Notably, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is set to make his return after he was rested for the Afghanistan series. He will lead the side in both the T20I and the ODI series. Shadab Khan will act as the deputy of Babar Azam. Also back on the side are Mohammed Rizwan and Haris Rauf.
New Zealand Team Update
While the majority of eminent New Zealand cricketers are engaged at the Indian Premier League (IPL), some prominent Kiwi cricketers will take charge of the New Zealand side. Tom Latham will lead the emerging national side where the squad includes key players like Adam Milne and Daryl Mitchell.
