Kona Srikar Bharat, popularly known as KS Bharat was born on 3rd October 1993 in Visakhapatnam town of Andhra Pradesh. Bharat is currently aged 29 years and still has a long way to go in his career. Bharat began to attain professional cricket coaching at a very tender age of 10.

KS Bharat made his first-class debut for Andhra Pradesh at the age of 19 in 2012-13. Bharat featured for Andhra’s first-class Ranji Trophy fixture against Kerala. Throughout his remarkable career, Bharat has been a consistent performer for Andhra Pradesh.
Bharat was absolutely phenomenal in his second season. He scored 758 runs in the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy season that helped him earn an IPL contract. In his breakthrough season of his career, Bharat scored at an average of 54.14.
KS Bharat made his List A debut against Tamil Nadu in 2012. He has remained absolutely monumental for Andhra in the 50-over white ball format. Subsequently, Bharat made his T-20 debut against Tamil Nadu in 2013.

Bharat has also represented India A in several matches and was a part of the Indian squad as a reserve wicket-keeper during their tour of Australia in 2020-21. Interestingly, Bharat has also been named in India’s squad a couple of times as a reserve wicketkeeper.
Named in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23
With Rishabh Pant’s injury in December 2022, Bharat stood as the frontrunner to be named in India’s squad for the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Test series against the Australian side. Notably, Bharat got a place into the squad and also made his international debut in the series.
KS Bharat featured in all four matches of the series. However, he could not make an impressive impact as he managed to score only 101 runs at an average of 20.20. His highest score was 44. Even after his miserable batting performance, Bharat has been entrusted with crucial responsibility as he has been named in India’s squad for the World Test Championship Final against Australia that is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 11 at the Oval in London.

Over his fascinating career, Bharat has achieved many milestones and scripted numerous records in the domestic circuit. Notably, Bharat became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score a triple century in Ranji Trophy. KS Bharat also became part of the Indian team named for the final of the 2nd edition of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 held at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Bharat was named as a full-time wicket-keeper batter for the Indian team for the WTC Final against Australia.

KS Bharat is a part of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. Defending champions Gujarat Titans picked Bharat in the IPL auctions for a whopping price of Rs. 1.2 crores. However, Bharat has not featured for the franchise in the championship so far as his counterpart Wriddhiman Saha has been preferred since he is a frontline batter and has been explosive and consistent at the top order.
Previously, KS Bharat has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in 2021-22. He featured for the Men in Red in 10 games and scored 199 runs at an average of 28.43. He has scored a solitary half-century and his highest score is 78*. Back in 2014, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) franchise had also picked Bharat, however, he did not feature in any games then.
