2. ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

The next T20 World Cup is scheduled for 2023 and South Africa has accepted to be the host. Currently, the 2023 tournament is gaining momentum as teams worldwide are gearing up for the showdown. This year, 10 teams will be playing in the face-off to claim the championship title.

3. Women’s Indian Premier League
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the governing body of cricket in India launched their Premier League to encourage women’s cricket. It was launched in 2018 at Wankhede with hopes that multiple top international players will be participating in the event. The whole tournament gained much momentum after India went to the finals of the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2022. The next edition of this tournament is scheduled to commence on March 4th. A total of five franchises will be playing 22 games to declare their final victory.

4. Senior Women’s T20 Challengers Trophy
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced this women’s T20 tournament in 2018–19 as a medium to promote gender equality in cricket. The tournament features 4 teams – India A, India B, India C, and India D. The tournament is being played in a round-robin format, followed by the final round. The last tournament ran from November 20 to 26, 2022. This is the first T20 Challenger Trophy to take place since 2019-20.

5. ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup
This is the very first inaugural year of the Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup organized by the International Cricket Council which took place in January 2023 in South Africa. The tournament was organized in the Twenty20 format where a total of 16 national teams participated from worldwide. The tournament was previously supposed to be inaugurated in 2021 but was postponed due to the pandemic. India won the debut finale against England to mark their name in history as the first Under-19 World Champions. Shafali Verma-led team stormed into the finals of 2023 Under 19 T20 World Cup and beat England by 7 wickets in what was a comprehensive victory for the young Indian team.

6. Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL)
The women’s equivalent to the Men’s Big Bash League (BBL), the WBBL has gained popularity among cricket fans for all good reasons. The inaugural WBBL took place in 2015-16 that saw a promising viewership and seeing the success of the BBL. Cricket Australia (CA) replaced the Australian Women’s Twenty20 Cup with the rebranded version of the Women’s cricket league in the country. A total of eight teams constituting the WBBL, and the brand value of all the teams have skyrocketed ever since. Adelaide Strikers are the reigning champions of the WBBL 2022 season. It was their 2nd title win as they beat Sydney Sixers by 10 runs in the WBBL 2022 finals.
Besides, other teams to have won WBBL are Brisbane Heat (Twice), Sydney Sixers (Twice), Sydney Thunder (Twice), and Perth Scorchers (Once). WBBL is one of the top women’s Cricket Tournaments around the World right now.
