In the aftermath of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, the USA brought in some exciting news announcing the introduction of two new teams adding to the excitement of the event. The sixth season of T10 not only showcased some of the best talents out there but also introduced franchises from the USA.
Morrisville SAMP Army, a USA Sports Complex, is one of the two teams to be playing in the coming season. Morrisville started with a strong side by appointing Jonty Rhodes, the experienced player from South Africa. Rhodes is one of the most respected legends of the last decade of the last century. Joining his former teammate, Lance Klusener, the head coach, Rhodes said that he is looking forward to future challenges.
As released by Abu Dhabi T10 League and Morrisville SAMP Army, Rhodes stated, “One of the real benefits of my role with SAMP Army is that I am not restricted to just the mentorship role with the team. I want to add value at the grassroots level as well. And with the presence in India and North America as well, it is an amazing opportunity for me to be able to hopefully add value.”
He added, “I am looking forward to working more with the SAMP Army franchise with Ritesh Patel and Madhukar Shree leading the way.”
Rhodes further stated, “The T10 is the fastest format in the game, and as a mentor, I will look to address the bigger picture situation. The coaching staff can get caught up with the match every over and ball. But as a mentor, you’re not looking at particular incidents, you are trying to bring your experience to help and allow the players to do what they do best.”
He added, “Sometimes you are not needed but then there are times when the coaches and players might need to bounce some ideas off of you, and I feel this is a role that I can certainly play.”
