According to the norms of Cricket Australia (CA), no trade and binding agreements between clubs can be made during the contracting embargo period. Melbourne Stars and Renegades have likely exchanged a non-binding correspondence for the trade window that will open for the next season soon.
Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch addressed the media and announced that the franchise is also looking to make some eminent amendments ahead of the upcoming season and they will target quality players and swap them with emerging and expressive players.
Zampa had become Stars’ captain in BBL
Adam Zampa took over the leadership role for Melbourne Stars after regular skipper Glenn Maxwell was injured and ruled out of the championship for the 2022-23 season. Unfortunately, Zampa could not provide justice to his responsibility as the Melbourne Stars franchise suffered another setback by finishing last in the standings at the recently concluded edition.
Adam Zampa had made his BBL debut for Sydney Thunders and then played for Adelaide Strikers before storming into the Melbourne Stars franchise. Zampa rose from the ranks in his stint for the Stars as he performed amazingly to elevate his career in Australia’s white-ball squad.
Adam Zampa’s trade will likely benefit Melbourne Renegades who are aiming to strengthen their bowling attack. Meanwhile, they are also set to terminate their association with Sam Harper who was a part of the winning side in 2018-19.
