Emirates have a good Net-run rate
The Emirates notched a 164-run total while batting first. The likes of Andre Fletcher (9) and Bas de Leede (2) got out on single-digit scores but M Waseem played a handy knock of 31 runs in 24 balls, which allowed the team to have a solid start in the powerplay despite two early wickets. The much-needed momentum came from the bat of Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 43 runs in 31 balls. He received good support from Tucker for his 15-ball 21 but Mousley (31 off 35) couldn’t finish it as well as he would have liked.
For the Dubai Capitals, Jake Ball returned with figures of 3 for 37 in 4 overs. Zampa was the best of all as he picked 2 crucial wickets for Waseem and Pooran and conceded only 24 runs. In reply, Dubai Capitals reached the target in just 18.1 overs. Dasun Shanaka played an outstanding knock of 58 runs in 36 balls, while Raza was equally brilliant for his 36-ball 56.
For the Emirates, Craig Overton returned with exceptional figures of 1 for 14 in 4 overs, while Zahir Khan picked two as well. But other than that, all the other bowlers were smashed across the park. It won’t be easy for Dubai Capitals to beat MI Emirates, once again but the momentum is definitely on their side.
