The upcoming Women’s Ashes ODI leg, which starts on July 12 in Bristol, will include England taking on Australia. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a 15-member roster for the forthcoming ODI series.
The squad, led by Heather Knight, is stacked with potential, featuring pace sensation Lauren Filer and power-hitting batter Tammy Beaumont, both of whom made an impact during the most recent Trent Bridge Test.
England aims to cut Australia’s lead in the multi-format series, which is now two points, after an amazing comeback in the T20I series. After an embarrassing loss in the Test match and the first T20I match, the Women’s Ashes felt like a far-away dream for the English women’s team.
Though, all three possibilities are still achievable, dude to their stunning comeback in the succeeding T20Is. Australia now leads the standings at 6-4, but a series win remains possible since six points are still up for grabs.
During the one-off Test, Tammy Beaumont seized the show with a brilliant double-century, and Lauren Filer displayed her talent by collecting four crucial wickets.
Because of Filer’s outstanding effort, the 50-over format could see her debut during the series, Head Coach Lewis, stated, “We’re happy to welcome back Tammy and Lauren into the squad. Tammy showcased her remarkable talent with her double-hundred in the Test match, while Lauren brings serious pace to our bowling attack alongside Issy Wong.”
The first One-Day International encounter between the bitter rivals will start on July 12 in Bristol, with the next two matches taking place in Southampton and Taunton on July 16 and July 18, respectively.
