Falak Naz is an Indian cricketer known for being the part of Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup team that created history after clinching the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023.
She was born on 7th November 2004 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh in a financially weak family. Her father Nasir Ahmed was a peon in a private school, while her mother Noori Zeenat was a homemaker. Falak spent her childhood days in a single-room tin-roofed house in Katghar area of Prayagraj.

She completed her schooling at Arya Girls Inter College and Dr Kailash Nath Katju Inter College, Kydganj
Just like any kid in India, she started playing gully cricket for fun during the early years, but later aspired to make a career in Cricket.
Due to a lack of cricket coaching facilities at her school Arya Girls Inter College, she took admitted to Dr Kailash Nath Katju Inter College to take cricket coaching, but the plan misfired.
Her father couldn’t afford the hefty coaching fees, so she returned back to her previous school and started training. Later in 2015, she started training under her school coach Ajay Yadav, who opened his own academy to help aspiring cricketers. Looking at Falak’s zeal and dedication he started training Falak Naz for free.
She dreamed of becoming a fast bowler, but after his coach’s advice, she decided to become an all-rounder.
Achievements
- In 2016, she represented the Uttar Pradesh Junior Women’s Cricket team.
- After a consistent run, she was included in the Bold Trophy tournament in 2018.
- In December 2022, she was selected for the ICC Under 19 Women’s 20 World Cup and the rest is history.
