Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has climbed up to the second position in the latest ICC ODI Rankings among batters released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Zaman achieved his career-best rankings after a mesmerizing performance in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand.
Interestingly, Zaman stands just a spot beneath his counterpart and skipper Babar Azam who is the No. 1 ranked ODI batsman. Babar Azam retained his top spot after a couple of splendid knocks of 49 and 65 in the first two games against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman is in absolutely phenomenal form as he smashed two successive centuries in the last two ODI’s. Zaman powered a scintillating 117-run knock in the first ODI to help Pakistan chase down a 289-run target whereas he anchored another solid 180-run knock to help his side record their second successful run chase of 337 runs in the second ODI.
Fakhar climbed up 8 spots which eventually meant that third-ranked Rassie van der Dussen and Shubman Gill slipped to the third and fourth spot respectively. Fakhar’s frontline partner Imam-ul-Haq claimed the fifth position after he too smashed a couple of crucial knocks including a 60-run innings in the second ODI.
