Ace English all-rounder Moeen Ali is reportedly set to make his comeback in the red-ball Test cricket format ahead of the crucial Ashes series against Australia that will start later this month. Moeen Ali retired from Test cricket in 2021 and has not featured in any official fixture since then.
The left-Arm Batsman and Right-Arm Offspinner have been approached by the English team management to take a call on his comeback. This comes after veteran left-arm spinner Jack Leach sustained a back stress fracture and was ruled out of the upcoming series.
Moeen Ali retired from Test cricket with a view to focus only on the limited-overs white ball format of the game. His decision to end the long format of the game was also because of issues with his spinning finger. Ali last featured in a Test match against India at the Oval in September 2021.
