WI vs UAE 3rd ODI: West Indies have sealed the three-match ODI series against UAE 2-0 and would be eyeing a clean sweep when they will take on the hosts in the third ODI on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
West Indies beat UAE convincingly in both the ODIs and, certainly, are the favourites to win the final match as well. West Indies register a 7-wicket win in the first ODI. They had restricted UAE to 202 and then chased it down in 35.2 overs.
For UAE, Aravind (40) and Ali Naseer (58) made substantial contributions with the bat. Keemo Paul picked three wickets for Windies, while Smith and Cariah claimed two wickets each.
Brandon King played a match-winning knock of 112 runs in the second innings to guide the team to an easy win. Shamarh Brooks also played a handy knock of 44 off 58 balls.
In the second ODI, West Indies notched a mammoth score of 306 runs in the first innings. Brandon King, once again, played a stellar knock of 64 off 70 balls, while J Charles smashed 63 off 47. The likes of Keacy Carty (32), and Odean Smith (37) also made notable returns with the bat.
For UAE, Zahoor Khan picked three wickets, while Naseer, Sanchit Sharma, and Afzal Khan claimed two wickets each. UAE fought hard with the bat and managed 228 in their allotted 50 overs. Ali Naseer once again starred with the bat, smashing 57 off 53, while Hameed amassed 49 off 84 balls.
For West Indies, Roston Chase and Hodge picked two wickets each, while Jordan, Cariah and Akeem Jordan picked one each.
Zahoor Khan is the leading wicket-taker in the series with four wickets to his name. Four bowlers such as Cariah, Afzal Khan, Smith and Chase have two wickets each in the series.
With the bat, Brandon King had led the way with 176 runs to his name. Ali Naseer has also been impressive with the bat for UAE, scoring 115 in 2 matches at 57.50.
