The clash between India and Australia is round the corner as we anticipate the winner of the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023. Both teams have been absolutely convincing and scintillating throughout the current cycle and it is difficult to ascertain a winner between the two.
The squads for the title clash have been finally confirmed and the Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) have submitted their squads to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the marquee fixture.
Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian contingent with veterans Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravi Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav paving their efforts to achieve supremacy.
Injured Rishabh Pant is not available and K.S Bharat has replaced the Delhi-lad. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has been announced as a backup wicketkeeper. Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been replaced by Ajinkya Rahane after his IPL plethora. Notably, standby batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad will be unavailable for the final due to his marriage and this paved an opportunity for young Yashasvi Jaiswal who will travel alongside the mainstream squad. Mukesh Kumar and Suryakumar Yadav are other standby players for India.
The emerging Australian squad will be led by frontline pacer Pat Cummins who will be deputed by ace batsman Steve Smith. Veterans David Warner, Usman Khwaja, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc will lead the Aussie attack.
The Australian side is fit and there are no injury concerns affecting the camp. Mitchell Marsh and Matt Renshaw have been named as the standby players.
