Titas Sadhu is a rising Indian cricketer renowned for her heroics in the ICC Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup that not only helped the Indian team lift the title but also established her as a rising superstar of Indian cricket.
Titas Sadhu Biography
Titas Ranadeep Sadhu was born on 29 September 2004 to Ranadeep Sadhu and Bhramar Mallick in Chinsura, West Bengal.
During the early years she was interested in various sports like swimming and Table Tennis, but over a period of time developed an interest in Cricket. Her father was an athlete and owned a cricket club in Chinsurah named “Rajendra Smriti Sangh”, Sadhu was given the responsibility to keep a score check during the matches. It was the time when the cricket bug bites her and she started taking an interest in Cricket.
One day the match was cancelled during the rain and Titas father decided to give Titas some bowling practice and identified her true potential.
At the age of 13, she gave trials for the West Bengal team but couldn’t earn a selection call. She wanted to appear next year, but couldn’t due to class X board exams.
After disappointing results, her childhood coach Priyankar Mukherjee introduced her to the Bengal team bowling coach Shib Shankar Paul, who later trained Titas Sadhu and played a pivotal role in transforming her cricket career.
In 2020 she was inducted into the Bengal team as a bowler, but failed to deliver and was dropped from the side. She participated in the 2022 Women’s U19 T20 Quadrangular series that included the likes of India A, India B, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.
In 2023, she was part of the ICC Under-19 Indian Women’s team, but the turnaround moment was when she took 2 wickets for just 6 runs in T20 World up to the finale and earned the Player of the Match award for her outstanding spell.
