In the latest ICC Men’s ODI Rankings, run machine Virat Kohli has improved his ranking and risen to No. 4. Along with him, several other Indian cricketers have shot their rankings up after their excellent performances against Sri Lanka. With a rating of 110, Team India is currently placed at fourth place in the ICC Men’s ODI team rankings.
Former Indian Captain Virat Kohli smashed two centuries at an average of 141.50 to jump up two places. Virat won the Player of the Series award for his dominating performance. He hit 283 runs from three innings as India whitewashed Sri Lanka in the three-match ODI series. Kohli currently has 750 points and can easily target for positions above him as the third-placed Quinton de Kock has 759 points and the second-placed Rassie van der Dussen has 766 points. Former Australia captain David Warner lies just one place below Kohli with 747 points.
The right-handed opener, Shubhman Gill moved up ten places to 26th position in the ranking list for ODI batsmen. Gill scored 207 runs at an average of 69 during the series comprised of a century and a fifty.
Trent Boult rises to No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for bowlers
With Trent Boult occupying the Number 1 position in the ranking list for bowlers, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj skyrocketed to Number 3 with 685 points as he moved up fifteen places. Siraj was the leading wicket-taker in the series by picking nine wickets. Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav moved up seven places to 21st as he picked five wickets from two matches against the Lankans.
Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson is presently ranked eighth on the ranking list for batters. He scored 164 runs during the series against Pakistan. Meanwhile, his compatriot Devon Conway also took a massive leap and leapfrogged over 50 places to attain the 50th ranking; thanks to his century and half-century he smashed during the course of the three-match series. Moreover, credits to their series, Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz made huge gains and jumped from the 40th position to the 28th position on the bowlers’ list. He picked up six wickets in the series.
