RR vs GT Live Score: Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, have continued exhibiting dominating performances this season as well. On Friday, they crushed Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets to pick up their 7th win of the season and strengthen their position at the top of the order.
Afghanistan spin duo of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed were too good for Rajasthan batters as they spun a web around them. The two combined to pick five wickets between them, helping Gujarat bundle out Rajasthan Royals for just 118 runs on the board.
Jos Buttler scored a couple of boundaries and looked in good touch but Hardik Pandya sent him back early. Unfortunately, the in-form batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal got run out to leave Rajasthan Royals in trouble early on at 47 for 2.
Sanju Samson played some sensational shots and looked on course to score a big one. But, once again, out of the blue, he played a shot that no one expected and failed to convert the start into a big one. He departed after scoring 30 off 20.
Rashid Khan inflicted massive damage on RR with his miserly and destructive spell
Once he got out, spinners ran through the Royals’ batting unit as they slipped from 60 for 3 to 87 for 7. The likes of Padikkal (12), Hetmyer (7), Parag (4) and Ashwin (2) got out cheaply. Trent Boult hit a few shots, in the end, to take the team past the 100-run mark, which didn’t look possible at one stage.
Rashid Khan starred with the ball for Gujarat Titans as he returned with sensational bowling figures of 3 for 14 in 4 overs. Noor Ahmed chipped in with two wickets, giving away 25 in 3.
Gujarat Titans chased down the total quite easily in just 13.5 overs, thanks to the opening partnership between Gill and Saha. Shubman Gill, once again, showed how sweet-timer of the ball he is.
He hit six fours during his knock of 36 off 35 balls, while Saha remained unbeaten on 41 off 34.
