Former India team and Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni is going to get admitted at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai’s Andheri. Dhoni had a rough patch at the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he was playing despite sustaining a grievous knee injury.
Interestingly, M.S Dhoni successfully led Chennai Super Kings to lift their fifth IPL title by defeating Gujarat Titans in a rain-interrupted final at Ahmedabad on Monday. CSK won the game on the third day i.e., Wednesday midnight after beating Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in a final ball thriller.
Dhoni had been reportedly struggling with his knee before the start of IPL 2023. He had to wear a kneecap during the entire championship. Before some fixtures, Dhoni was also seen wearing heavy strappings on his left knee as well.
Despite suffering through the strenuous injury, M.S Dhoni featured in all 16 games of the IPL. He played a few solid cameos and also encountered a stunning stumping of dangerous in-form batsman Shubman Gill in the final.

“If you see circumstantially this is the best time for me to announce retirement. With the amount of love and affection I’ve been shown wherever I’ve been this year, the easy thing for me would be to say, ‘Thank you very much’. But the tough thing for me is to work hard for another nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body, I have six-seven months to decide and it will be more like a gift from my side,” Dhoni said after CSK won the 5th IPL title.
Currently, Dhoni will now undergo treatment at the Kokilaben hospital after undergoing multiple tests. The extent of his injury is yet to be ascertained and official reports will likely be out soon.
