BAN vs AFG: Several members and players of the Afghanistan cricket team have been put in isolation after contracting COVID-19, Crictracker reported on Tuesday.
The visitors are currently in Bangladesh for the white-ball series slated to get underway from February 23. The series will comprise of three ODIs, followed by a couple of T20I matches. However, considering the latest development, uncertainty arises if the covid-19 is found to be prolonged among the Afghanistan players and management.
Currently, the entire team and management is in Sylhet and serving a mandatory 48 hours of isolation which will end by February 16 (Wednesday).
”Look, now they are not under our protocol considering the series will start from February 19 but now whatever support they will want now we will provide that,” a BCB official was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
The members who have tested positive for covid-19 will have to undergo another test in the next 5-7 days. If they return negative, they will be pertained to train with the rest of the team. If not they might have to be transferred to the hospital.
”If the symptoms are mild then they will be isolated and if that is not the case we will have to transfer them to hospital but at the moment they are looking after their own well-being,” he added.
