LSG vs RCB: The 15th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants turned out to be one of the best clashes in the history of the tournament. On a tracking which is known to produce lots of runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore notched a massive 212-run total in the first innings.
But, despite that, it didn’t prove enough for them as Lucknow Super Giants chased it down on the final ball of the match. Virat Kohli (61 off 44), Faf du Plessis (79 off 46), and Maxwell (59 off 29) played sensational knocks for RCB.
However, the Lucknow Super Giants were up to the task. Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran played game-changing knocks for the Giants and helped the team earn a win.
While Stoinis notched 65 runs in just 30 deliveries, Nicholas Pooran smashed 62 runs in just 19 deliveries, including 4 fours and 7 sixes. RCB would be disappointed to not have won the game despite posting such a big score. The game proceeded into the last ball thriller when Lucknow needed one run off one ball and a wicket in hand. In a dramatic last ball, LSG managed to heist the win from RCB and took the top place in IPL 2023 points table.

Nicholas Pooran hits the fastest fifty in IPL 2023
Nicholas Pooran turned the game around with sensational ball-striking in the second innings against RCB on Monday. He put on an exhibition of sixes, smashing balls into all parts of the ground. Pooran played a game-changing knock of 62 runs in just 19 deliveries at a strike rate of 326.
During his knock, he also hit the fastest half-century, reaching the feat in just 15 deliveries. Besides, this is also the second-joint fastest half-century in IPL.
Virat Kohli becomes fourth highest run-scorer in T20s.
Virat Kohli has been in sensational form, of late. He laid the foundation for a big knock, notching 61 runs in 44 balls. In the process, he also became the fourth-highest run-scorer in the T20s, only behind the likes of Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard.
Harshal Patel completes 100 wickets in IPL
With consistent performances over the last few years, Harshal Patel has become an indispensable part of the Bangalore franchise. However, he hasn’t been able to produce goods in the ongoing edition. Against Lucknow on Monday, he returned with bowling figures of 2 for 48 runs in 2 overs and also completed 100 wickets in IPL.
Faf du Plessis hits longest six in IPL 2023
Faf du Plessis didn’t start his innings too well as he was struggling to time the well, initially. However, he changed gears wonderfully after Kohli departed and went on to score 79 off 46. During the innings, he smacked Karn Sharma for the biggest six in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Du Plessis sent a 115-metre six that went out of the ground.
Fourth highest-run chase in IPL
Lucknow Super Giants had lost three wickets inside the powerplay and were in dire straits in pursuit of a 213-run target. However, the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran turned things around with sensational knocks in the middle overs. Lucknow went on to win the match on the final ball of the match. Notably, this is the fourth-highest successful run-chase in the history of the Indian Premier League.
