The most recent ICC T20I rankings for batters have revealed that Suryakumar Yadav has climbed one position to reclaim his career-best No. 2.
Babar Azam is only one position and two rating points below Suryakumar in the ICC T20I rankings. He moved up one spot the credit goes to his 110*, 8 and 36 in the current seven-match T20I series against England. Mohammad Rizwan maintained the top spot on the list with a clear 60-point edge over Suryakumar. He scored 88*, 8 and 88 in those three games.
Suryakumar scored a 36-ball 69 in the third T20I match held at Hyderabad to help India win the series 2-1. He recorded a first-ball duck in the second T20I encounter against Australia.
India is currently playing a three-match T20I home series against South Africa. On the other hand, Pakistan still has three T20Is left in their seven-match series at home against England. This gives all three of those batters a chance to boost up their position. Also in the case of Suryakumar and Babar, climb up the position chart.
Ben Duckett and Harry Brook of England also made substantial advancements in the most recent edition. In their past three games, they both recorded a half-century and two other scores of at least 30. Owing to this, Brook is now at position 29 and Duckett is at position 32.
Axar Patel had the biggest jump in the bowler rankings after winning Player of the Series against Australia. He has moved up from 33rd to the 18th position. Axar picked up eight wickets in three games while conceding only 6.30 runs per over in a series that had dominating contributions from batters.
Josh Hazlewood, who has taken three wickets in three games, is still in the first place. Following him are five wrist spinners in that order: Tabraiz Shamsi, Adil Rashid, Rashid Khan, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Adam Zampa. The only other fast bowler in the top ten is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is ranked tenth. Haris Rauf has risen seven positions to 14th after taking five wickets in his last three games.
Gerhard Erasmus, the Namibia skipper, has moved up 38 spots to joint-49th in the ODI rankings with his 49 against Papua New Guinea. This happened in five matches of the Cricket World Cup League 2 in Port Moresby.
