Tim David Profile: Timothy Hays David, popularly known as Tim David, is an Australian cricketer who was born in Singapore in 1996. He played for the Singapore national cricket team between 2019 and 2020 before shifting to the Australian team in 2022. He made his debut for Australia in 2022 against India and was part of the squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup. David has played for various Twenty20 franchise teams and was signed by Mumbai Indians for INR 8.25 crore at the 2023 IPL auction.

David is a 6 ft 5 inches middle-order hitter who grew up in Western Australia and attended Scotch College. Although he was offered a state contract by Western Australia in 2018-19, he was never cut as a senior player. He then threw himself into white-ball cricket, playing for Singapore and sporadically for the Scorchers in the BBL.
Tim David T20 Career
The Aussie has proved to be a formidable batsman, especially during the final overs of T20 matches. He has played in nearly 90 T20 matches and has an impressive strike rate of 159.36. David has played for various teams including Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League, The Hundred, and the Caribbean Premier League. He was previously selected by RCB to play in the IPL. Tim David joined the IPL in 2021 and has played 14 matches, scoring a total of 275 runs with an average of 30.56. He achieved his highest score of 46 runs during his IPL career, hitting 16 fours and 21 sixes. He is a genuine power-hitter, particularly strong down the ground like his teammate Kieron Pollard. David also bowls off breaks and is a reliable fielder in the deep at long-on or midwicket.
In 2020-21, the 27-year-old joined the Hobart Hurricanes and had a breakout season in the BBL. He was then picked by Lahore Qalandars for the second half of the PSL, and his performances continued to attract contracts from teams such as Surrey, Southern Brave, St Lucia Kings, RCB, and Multan. He finished the IPL 2022 season with the best-ever strike rate for a batter in a single campaign, despite being dropped early in the competition.
