The Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has made great progress in both T20 Internationals and ODIs, climbing up the ICC T20I Rankings to achieve the career-best No. 2 position. She was well rewarded for her great performance by moving up in the batting rankings. This is a result of her recent match-winning efforts in England.
She rose to the ranks in T20Is after scoring an unbeaten 79 in Derby’s second T20I. The Indian opener maintained her form in the ODI series after scoring 111 runs in the three-match series against England. Mandhana led the squad to victory in the opening game with a well-rounded 91. She has climbed three slots to No. 7 in the ODI rankings.
Mandhana has surpassed Meg Lanning in the T20I rankings after moving up to third place in August. With a total of 743 rating points, Beth Mooney has held the top rank, 12 points ahead of Mandhana, after leading the CWG 2022 run-scorers leaderboard.
Yastika Bhatia is currently in great form and was particularly effective during the first ODI against England. She has moved up eight spots to number 37 in the rankings.
Harmanpreet Kaur has also advanced, moving up one spot to 14th in ICC T20I Rankings. She also moved up four spots to ninth in ODIs following her 74* in the first ODI against England. Deepti Sharma also moved up six spots to 12th in the ODI bowling rankings after taking 2 for 33 in the match.
England’s Kate Cross rose three ranks to tenth place on the list of ODI bowlers following her 2 for 43 in the same game. Charlie Dean advanced four spots to twenty-first place.
Alice Capsey went up to 20th in the batting rankings after the T20I series, which England won 2-1. On the other hand, Sophia Dunkley advanced 12 spots to 32nd after finishing with 115 runs for her team.
